Boost Your Resolutions: FL's Paradise Coast Wellness Experience Debuts January 19

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 19th as SWFL’s Paradise Coast Wellness Experience celebrates a slew of dawn til dusk fitness and wellness activities in Naples, Bonita Springs, Marco Island and Everglades City.

Most events are free. Your itinerary might include:

Classes + Clinics

Twelve hours at the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort (no fee, but if the spa parking lot is full, you’ll need more than a few oms and buckaroos after trying to find a spot across the street in the guest parking lot.)

The schedule:

7 am: Meditation Class at the Spa Movement Studio
7:50 am: Floating Yoga at the Spa Pool Beach Yoga
9 am: Power Yoga
10 am: Pilates Class
10:15 am: Smoothie demo at Kane’s Tiki Bar
11am: Empower! Kids Yoga
12pm: Meditation + Sleep Class
1:30pm: Healthy Cooking Class at Maia Restaurant
5pm: Beach Walk or Beach Yoga

Yoga on the beach at Naples’ Edgewater Beach Hotel from 9-10 am. Space is limited; call 239-403-2000 to reserve your spot.

A 30-minute intro tennis clinic with USPTA Professional Wayne Keeler at the Arthur L. Allen Tennis Center in Naples, at 3 pm, 3:30 pm, 4 pm and 4:30 pm. The facility’s website will drive you bonkers, so if you need more info, call 239.213.3060.

A guided 2 or 3.5 mile walk on the Gordon River Greenway in Naples at 8 am. No participation fee, but donations to Naples Pathways Coalition, a non-profit advocacy group working to create safe, bike- and walkable communities throughout Collier County, are encouraged. Meet at the Greenway’s Naples Zoo entrance off Goodlette-Frank.

A 1.5-mile swamp walk for beginners at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary east of Bonita Springs from 9:30am-3 pm. On this outdoors educational adventure, “experience this pristine ancient cypress swamp that is usually off-limits.” Click the hyperlink for details (and wear your Wellies!) as participants must be physically able to walk on uneven and sometimes difficult surfaces through water; step and/or climb over logs and branches; and climb a ladder back onto the boardwalk or onto a vehicle. Note: this one has a liability waiver!

Get paddling with a naturalist-led kayak trip through Big Cypress National Preserve’s mangrove forests. No lions, tigers or bears, but you might spot a few panthers and alligators. Two times: 8:30 am and 1 pm in Everglades City. $109.95

Led by the experts at Trek Bicycle Store and Pan-Florida Challenge (a charity devoted to feeding hungry children in Florida), learn about pace-line riding, rider etiquette and more before embarking from the store on a 30-50 mile, no-drop ride from 7 am until noon. Free.

Free bike rental for the first 19 guests at the fancy LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in North Naples.

Do don your SPF and mosquito repellent before heading out. We’ll see you there!
