Nuts But Spotless: Dana Literally Has 5 Cleansers In Rotation Right Now
You know that expression "Shop Your Closet"?
I swear by a different version: "Shop Your Beauty Armoire."
Whenever I throw open the doors to that sucker - it's about 6' x 4' and tucked into a corner of my master bedroom - I invariably find some unopened treasure that needs a little love and attention.
Faithful readers might recall how much I heart Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. It's kind of gloppy and gooey, and dripping with tons of yummy essential oils. I loooooove using it at night to "get the day off" my face before I slather it with Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum or a new fave, Clark's Botanicals Retinol Rescue Overnight Cream.
Truth be told, I was starting to get a little panicky that I was nearing the end of my first big tub of Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. It's a bit spendy, and although totally worth it, I can't, in good conscience, splash-out on cleansers when I know a little digging around in my trusty Beauty Armoire will yield other options.
Okay, back to beauty....
In addition to the Elemis, I've been using two IT Cosmetics options: Confidence In a Cleanser Skin-Transforming Hydrating Cleansing Serum and Miracle Water 3-In-1 Glow Tonic. The Confidence, a companion to IT's fantastic mega moisturizer Confidence In a Cream, is new and delish, and great on mornings when my skin is feeling a little parched. It's laced with serum - a first for a cleanser - so it's super hydrating.
The Miracle Water 3-In-1 Glow Tonic is a robo-charged anti-aging micellar water. It's my slam-dunk go-to when I'm too lazy to do a super-thorough job of cleansing my face, and just want to get my macquillage off as fast as possible and crash into bed. It leaves your skin feeling dewy, and dewy is always appreciated. Especially at, ahem, my age...
So as the title of this post boldly states, I have five cleansers in heavy rotation. So imagine my surprise when I took a closer gander at my fifth "cleanser," Avène Gentle Exfoliating Gel. Is it a cleanser? A scrub? A little of both? And does that even matter if I feel refreshed after using it? Because I do. I do feel refreshed after using it.
I think it's ironic that now that I'm living in Florida, and don't have to deal with a fraction of the pollution and grime I faced every day in New York, I now have this psychotic arsenal of cleansers. Whatevs. They're all just really nice, and serve different purposes. A gal needs options, no?
